Kyoto University and Nissan to Demonstrate Energy Transmission System
09/25/96
Comline has reported that on October 1, energy researchers from Kyoto University will begin a public experiment on the university's Uji campus, in cooperation with Nissan Motor. The experiment involves energy transmission via a retrodirecting microwave transmitter. The transmitter takes energy generated in space and transmits it to receivers and mobile items like electric cars. Retrodirection means a that the receiver sends a signal to the energy transmitter, which electrically reverses the phase and sends a microwave beam back toward the receiver. Moving objects can also be locked onto for transmission.
