GM Announces 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport Minivan Prices

All-New 1997 Trans Sport 'Value Pricing' Announced

PONTIAC, Mich., Sept. 19 -- Pricing on the Consumer
Marketing Initiative "Value Price" versions of Pontiac's all-new 1997
Trans Sport minivan to be sold by Pontiac dealers in California,
Washington, Oregon and Idaho was announced today.

"The 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport is for that growing segment of buyers
who want the look and excitement of sport utility vehicles, but need
the functionality and versatility of a minivan," said Pontiac-GMC
General Manager Roy Roberts. "Pontiac dealers have just started to
receive these vehicles on their lots and are looking forward to a very
successful year with this new and exciting minivan."

The 1997 Trans Sport "Value Pricing" (including destination freight
charges) is as follows:

The all-new Trans Sport is loaded with new and exciting features
designed to make it stand out in the minivan crowd. It can be ordered
with one of three exterior appearances for 1997 -- monotone, two-tone
and the Montana package. Trans Sport is available in either an
extended or regular wheelbase, and it offers both dual sliding doors
and a power sliding door. Customers may also choose from five
distinctly different seating configurations including a Trans Sport
exclusive -- 8-passenger seating. The Trans Sport is manufactured at
the General Motors assembly plant in Doraville, Ga.
