Porsche Has Orders For 10,000 Boxsters at $40,000 per Copy

The Production line for the all-new Porsche Boxster has not started rolling yet, but Porsche already has orders for 10,000 of the new two-seater mid-engine sporsters. Last fiscal year the German auto maker produced 20,132 of its 911 models. Starting next week the German plant will add 10 Boxsters to its daily production load of 118 Porsche 911s. If demand for the Boxters holds at its present level, the carmaker anticipates building up to 20,000 Boxsters a year, which would put Porsche production at a grand total of 40,000 sports cars per year.
