Fuji Heavy Developing Drive Simulator for Use at Dealerships
09/18/96
Comline reported that Fuji Heavy Industries is developing a driving simulator to be used as a marketing tool for passenger cars at affiliated Subaru auto dealerships. The simulator will be ready as early as mid-1997, and uses technology Fuji developed for its flight simulators. The machines will give customers an idea of how cars handle on a test course under various conditions like wet roads. Customers will be able to use the simulator to test drive a car at high speed or under hazardous conditions. The simulator is meant to boost sales.
