09/17/96

Delphi Named Supplier of Generator for Honda's New V6

ANDERSON, Ind., Sept. 13 -- Delphi Energy & Engine
Management Systems' Anderson facility, Plant #11, has been awarded new
business as a supplier of generators to Honda for their recently
announced all-new V6 engine. This new 3.0 liter V6 engine is being
produced in the United States at Honda's Anna, Ohio engine plant. It
is the first Honda V6 engine produced in the United States.

"We are excited about being a player on Honda's team," said Stan
Owens, Anderson site manager. "The opportunity to provide generators
for Honda represents a significant investment in our facility and our
people," said Estes Boles, UAW Local 662 Shop Committee member.

Generators, however, are not new to Delphi Energy & Engine Management
Systems. Delphi has been involved with electrical power generation
since 1896 and the Anderson, Indiana facility has been producing
generators since the early 1920s. In fact, Delphi produces more than 9
million Delcotron(TM) generators annually. Technical centers in the
United States, Europe and Asia allow Delphi to design and develop
generating systems for customers worldwide. Delphi offers a wide range
of solutions and innovations to assist customers in vehicle system
integration. The CS-13OD generator, produced for Honda and other
customers worldwide, is a high output, small package, internal fan
design.

"Today's vehicles require higher consumption of electrical power while
incorporating mass reduction and durability standards. Delphi Energy &
Engine Management Systems' focus is to continually develop innovative
technology and products to meet our customers' expectations and
needs. We are excited to be supplying Honda with generators for their
new U.S. V6 program," said Don Runkle, vice president and general
manager.
