Hyundai Breaks Out For 1997 And Brings Out The Tiburon Sporster

Hyundai has a new 16 valve four-banger engine called the Beta that they are proud of, so why not put this 140HP performance mill in a car? Or maybe in a sport coupe that will enable the Korean auto maker to creep toward the performance market and at least start with a car that looks racy. Hyundai does not call the Tiburon 2X2 a sports car, but is content to refer to it as a sporty coupe. In a few weeks we will give TACH visitors a look at this neat Paseo-like package and also will wring it out with a road test. For now here is an overview:
