Sayonara Nissan 300ZX . . . Last One Goes To Peterson Museum
09/12/96
The former President of Nissan, U.S.A., Yukata Katayama, took the last Nissan 300ZX to leave the assembly line and "inducted" the hot rod into the Peterson Automotive Museum in a Hollywood ceremony. If you've seen the Nissan "dream garage" commercials of late you will notice the lead spokesman extols the virtues of some of the Nissan's products. This gentlemen is an image of Mr. Katayama. At its peak Nissan sold more than 86,000 Z cars in the U.S., in 1993, however, that figure fell to 3,600 and spelled the demise of the model as it had gone out of style and was very expensive.
