Japan Spends $4.87 Billion on European Auto Parts in 95/96

Reuters has reported that the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) said on Friday that Japanese carmakers bought $4.87 billion worth of European-made car parts and materials in the year ended March 31, 1996. $4.09 billion of the amount bought components and materials for Japanese carmakers to use at their European units, while $783.37 million bought parts that were imported to Japan.
In July JAMA announced that Japanese carmakers bought a record $21.03 billion worth of American-made car parts and materials for use at their American units in 1995/96.
