09/06/96

Aurora Sales Improve for Second Month

LANSING, Mich., Sept. 4 -- For the second month in a row,
Aurora sales posted an improvement over year ago figures. Aurora sales
increased by 589 units over the same month last year marking a 30.3
percent improvement. In July, Aurora sales increased 30.6 percent over
the same month last year.

"Aurora continues to be recognized by customers as a leader in its
segment," said John Gatt, Aurora brand manager. "Its features and
refinement combine with the Aurora V-8 to offer an outstanding
package."

In addition to being a Consumer's Digest "Best Buy" the Aurora was
recently designated as a "Collectible Car of the Future" by the
National Automotive History Collection. It was selected out of a list
of twenty-three vehicle candidates.

Total Oldsmobile sales were down 22 percent for the month compared to
August last year with the decrease led by models scheduled to phase
out in the 1996 model year. Bravada, Oldsmobile's sport utility truck,
posted its best sales month ever.
