Rover Japan Introduces New Models

09/05/96

Comline has reported that Rover Japan--a subsidiary of the U.K.'s Rover car company--has commenced selling its new small passenger car, the Rover 200. The car differs from the old 200 series as it was completely designed by Rover itself, rather than based on one of Honda's small cars. The company is targeting young customers in their twenties or thirties. The new line offers a five-door 200 SLi and a three- or five-door 200 Si, all with 1600 cc engines. Next spring the three-door, five- speed manual transmission 1800 cc 200 vi will join the line-up.
