Ford and China Sign Agreements on Pollution Control and Worker Training
09/05/96
The Associated Press has reported that a state-run newspaper in China ran a story that said Ford Motor Company and Chinese officials have signed an agreement to develop an inexpensive catalytic converter that will reduce the pollutants in vehicle exhaust.
The agreement was one of three that Ford signed in China on Monday. All of the agreements aim to speed up the development of China's auto industry, and one deals with worker training. The catalytic converter will be produced for the Chinese market and for export. It will take three years to develop.
