Chrysler's U.S. Sales Outlook Strong for August

Reuters has reported that consumers continued buying Chrysler's minivans and pickup trucks through August, putting another double-digit rise in domestic monthly sales within the carmaker's reach.

In separate auto industry news, GM told analysts it would report a U.S. sales drop for August, as copmpared to August of the previous year. A year ago GM saw particularly high demand for passenger cars. Ford's August sales look like they will be unchanged in August, coming in slightly below what the did for the August of the previous year.
