Fiat Announces Recall of 6,000 Alpha Romeos

08/29/96

Reuters reported that Fiat Auto SpA announced on Tuesday that it will recall 6,000 1991 to 1993 Alfa Romeo 164 U.S.A. version cars. The company is recalling the cars to correct a fuel leak problem. The company said some components of a rubber filler pipe were altered during the cars' manufacture, and that the change could lead to a decay of the pipe and fuel seepage. Fiat no longer sells Alpha Romeo cars in the United States.
