Saturn Plans 200 New Stores in Next 3 Years
08/26/96
With the advent of a new, bigger Saturn model next year, the GM division is making plans to franchise 200 additional dealers in the next three years. Most of the outlets will be second and third stores in current existing dealer markets and not new geographic locations. The new model, which carries the code name Innovate, will be built at the GM plant in Wilmington, Del, which has a capacity of 225,000 units per year. Saturn currently has 349 dealerships in 170 major markets. The new larger model will be derived from the GM produced German Opel Vectra platform.
