GM's Saturn Recalls 3,600 1997 SC1 and SC2 sport coupes.

08/26/96

Reuters reported that General Motors Corp.'s Saturn unit said Friday it will recall 3,600 1997-model SC1 and SC2 two-door sport coupes. The recall addresses potential problems with passenger seat latches, which may not lock the seat securely in place when it is adjusted forward or backward. An unlatched seat could move in the case of an accident.

1,560 of the recalled cars have been delivered to owners, while the rest of them are still in retailers' inventories. Saturn said it was notifying individual owners and retailers directly. Saturn said a supplier discovered the problem with the passenger seats. No related injuries or accidents have been reported.
