Chrysler Truck Sales Set Model Year Record

Chrysler Corporation announced that its light truck sales have set a model year record with more than a month left in the year. Light trucks include pickups, vans, minivans and Jeep sport-utility vehicles

Between Oct. 1, 1995 and Aug. 13, 1996 Chrysler sold 1,366,280 light trucks. The previous record was set in 1994 when Chrysler sold 1,362,546 trucks over the full model year.

Chrysler's current model year truck sales (through July 31) are up 17 percent over 1995's rate. Total truck sales have set records for four consecutive quarters.
