NHTSA Recalls 400,000 Cars

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration today released a list of auto safety recalls and urged consumers to have the problems fixed ASAP.
CHRYSLER CORP. Cirrus 1995-96 Stratus 1995-96 Plymouth Breeze 1996 90,000 vehicles Defect: Corrosion of the ABS hydraulic control unit can cause solenoid valves to stick in open position. Chrysler Cirrus 1996 Dodge Neon 1995-96 Dodge Stratus 1995-96 Plymouth Breeze 1996 151,800 vehicles Brake master cylinder can leak brake fluid due to a damaged piston seal. FORD MOTOR CO 100,000 vehicles Taurus 1996 Windstar van 1996 Mercury Sable 1996 Park pawl shift improperly positioned causing park pawl to not engage. NISSAN MOTORS 70,000 vehicles Infiniti G20 1993-95 Infiniti J30 1993-95 Harness connector in seat belt pre-tensioner can ignite. SAAB CARS USA 1,058 vehicles 1996 models Seat belt assembly anchorage system improperly installed. VW 3,100 vehicles Audi V8 1990-91 Cruise control problem. Audi A4 3,700 vehicles 1996 Horn ground contact problem.
