Toyota Calls Meeting of Suppliers
07/26/96
Toyota Motor Corporation recently held its "6th North American Import Suppliers Meeting," in San Diego. The meeting targets North American parts makers in the company's supply chain.
About 300 representatives from 110 parts makers listened to the Japanese auto maker explain its efforts toward procuring parts from outside of Japan, improving product prowess, shortening the time it takes to develop parts, and the role of its supplier companies in North America.
Toyota has met with its suppliers every year for the last six, in an attempt to deepen mutual understanding between the company and its suppliers, to expand imports, and to cultivate long-term business relationships.
