Duhamel really needs no introduction. The defending AMA Superbike Champion and three-time Pro Honda Oils SuperSport Champion, Duhamel will be one of the top contenders in the two featured World Superbike races. The 29-year-old Montreal-native, who now lives in Los Angeles, will be a strong favorite to defend his Laguna Seca 600cc SuperSport crown, although Kawasaki's Mike Smith managed to beat Duhamel in round three of the series there in May. The winningest rider in AMA SuperSport history, Duhamel can add to his record 28 career wins in 600cc SuperSport with a victory this weekend. Bostrom is a youngster from Redondo Beach, California, who was one of the top up-and-coming AMA dirt track riders before switching full-time to road racing. The switch to pavement has proven to be fruitful for the 22-year-old. Bostrom has won four Progressive Insurance SuperTwins races and has a commanding series lead coming into Laguna Seca. Bostrom finished fourth at Laguna Seca in SuperTwins last year, his rookie season in road racing. While the World Superbikes will be the big attraction at Laguna this weekend, the AMA support classes could provide some of the best racing action, featuring two of the AMA's brightest stars.
