Children with AIDS Project Needs Motorhome for Walk Across America Fund Raiser

07/17/96

Starting on September 1, 1996 Louie Rochon will put on his shoes and begin to walk across the country to seek donations for the Children with AIDS Project of America. Rochon will walk from Miami Florida to Los Angeles, and then to Blaine, Washington. The trip will take him approximately 2 years to complete, and 90% of the funds he raises will be donated to the Children with AIDS Project.

Rochon needs help to get started, however. He's looking to borrow a medium sized motorhome and a small pull vehicle for the duration of the trip. Both vehicles will be used as support vehicles along the walk. The motorhome must accommodate 2 people, and will be parked every 100 miles along the trip. The smaller vehicle will taxi Rochon back and forth between the motorhome and the walk site at the beginning and end of each walk day.

The use of the motorhome and pull vehicle can be donated for use by Louie Rochon to the "Children with AIDS Project of America," a 501C3 tax exempt, public supported, non-profit organization.

The Children with AIDS Project assists HIV infected kids, kids with AIDS, and AIDS orphans. Almost 20,000 children have already been orphaned, and that number is expected to increase to about 85,000 by the year 2000. More info about the Children with AIDS Project is available at http://www.aidskids.org.

The walk organizers and the Children with AIDS Project ask you to e-mail them with pertinent info if you or anyone you know may be able to help launch the project. The address is Walkman1@IX.NETCOM.COM.
