1997 Chevrolet Preview . . . Corvette Gets New 5.7 Motor

What's coming from the "bowtie Brigade" for 1997? Corvette will look the same as 1996, as an ALL new model is planned for 1997, however, there are upgrades to the motor which include:
- 5.7 liter V8 SFI
- Deep skirt aluminum engine block which is stronger
- Flow tested cylinder heads.
- Smoother intake manifold...breathes easier.
- Lighter hollow camshaft
- Cast steel rocker arms.
- Extended sump oil pan
- Redesigned pistons to reduce hydrocarbon emissions..
- Redisgned ignition system with a coil per cylinder, new firing order.
- SFI Sequential Fuel Injection system is emissions compliant.
