Chrysler Opens Regional Sales Office in Johannesburg, S. Africa

Chrysler, who already is producing right hand drive Jeeps for export, is readying an additional five models for RHD in 1997 and will open an office in South Africa to coordinate marketing.

The vehicles (Jeep Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Neon Sedan, Plymouth Voyager Van and Jeep Wrangler) will be sold through MOPAR dealerships in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Fort Elizabeth. With the additon of three more dealers in South Africa, Chrysler hopes to increase new car sales from 2,500 to 7,500 by 1999
