Perhaps you support the United Auto Workers, are proud of America's labor force, and want to buy a Union built car or truck. How do you know which models are put together by unionized workers in the USA? The UAW published this handy list of UAW-assembled cars and trucks for the 1996 model year:

sticker for the location of the assembly plant. If the first number of
the Vehicle Identification Number on the small metal plate attached to
the front of every dashboard is a "1" or "4,", that vehicle was
assembled in the U.S.A. "2" means Canada, "3" means Mexico, and "J"
means Japan.
