Nissan Wants Workers to Forego Vacations and Build Luxury Cars
06/24/96
Nissan Motor Co. has asked its union to cut their 13 day summer vacation short so that they can build Cima luxury models. The Japanese carmaker wants to run one of its assembly lines for two extra days and nights so that it can crank out an extra 1,500 cars. Nissan has already decided to keep their assembly lines running through four regular holidays in the coming three months
The Cima was introduced on June 3, and production has not managed to catch up with demand, yet.
