Chrysler Announces One Million Plus LH Sedans Sold

06/11/96

Chrysler announced that North American sales of its LH line of sedans surpassed the 1 million mark in may.

The LH sedans include the Chrysler Concorde, Dodge Intrepid, and Eagle Vision, which the company introduced in 1993. The LH sedans were the company's first cars to feature cab-forward design, maximizing interior and trunk room and providing stability, safety, and performance characteristics. The LH sedans were also Chrysler's first cars with standard dual air bags. Chrysler LHS and New Yorker luxury models entered the LH lineup in 1994.

North American sales of the five models totaled 1,024,534 through May 31, 1996. U.S. sales were 910,899, while the total for Canada was 113,635. Dodge Intrepid has been the volume leader, with sales of 523,377 through May.

Last week Chrysler announced a price hike of $250-$300 on models that included the Chrysler Concorde, Dodge Intrepid, and Eagle Vision.
