Japanese Automakers to Increase Capital Spending

The top five automakers in Japan have released reports showing a planned 11% increase in capital spending for fiscal 1996. A cumulative 560 billion yen will be devoted to improvement of manufacturing plants and development of new product models.
Planned Capital Investment for Fiscal 1996:
Toyota $300 billion yen
Nissan $80 billion yen
Mitsubishi $100 billion yen
Honda $55 billion yen
Mazda $25 billion yen
