Mercedes Benz to Build Assembly Plant in Brazil

With a yearly output goal of 70,000 cars as their target Mercedes Benz AG announced that they will build a plant in Brazil which will employ 1500 workers. The factory will cost around $400 million and is slated to turn out the new A class small car currently in the planning stage. The plant will begin operating in 1998.
