Fiat Gets New Chairman

The Associated Press reported that Fiat's chairman Giovanni Agnelli stepped down and handed the company's reins over to Cesare Romiti. Fiat has a mandatory retirement age of 75; Agnelli turns 75 next month. Romiti is only the second company head who wasn't a member of the Agnelli family, he has been the company's number two executive. Romiti turns 75 in 1998.
