Toyota reportedly plans to produce EV SUVs at Ky. plant
Toyota will produce two electric SUVs at its Kentucky plant, based on the RAV4 and Land Cruiser, while ending Lexus ES production there, according to a source. The next-generation Lexus ES will be made in Japan and exported to the US. Toyota has not confirmed these plans but stated it reviews production regularly.

Report: EV adoption in US to drop further after tax credit ends
Electric vehicles will see a sharper downturn in their adoption in the US after the Sept. 30 expiration of a $7,500 consumer tax credit for purchasing EVs, according to an EY report. In 2039 -- five years later than in EY's prior forecast -- half of US auto sales will be of battery-powered vehicles, the report says. Meanwhile, EV sales accounted for 8.1% of the US market last year, a share that is forecast to reach 11% by 2029, EY says.

Sunnoo launches solar-powered EV charging station
Sunnoo Inc. has developed a solar-powered EV charging station that can be installed in hours without the need for grid connections, trench digging or permits. The company's first station will be relocated from its Las Cruces, N.M., manufacturing facility to New Mexico State University this year. "We engineered a solution that delivers fast, sustainable charging with no permitting delays, no construction headaches, and no grid dependency," said Sunnoo Chief Technology Officer Martin Gero.
