PORTLAND, Ore., June 11, 2025 -- On Saturday, July 12, Housecall Providers and more than 20 organizations that serve senior and disabled communities in need invite Portlanders of all ages to gather under the trees at Sellwood Park for Community Day in the Park. Hundreds are expected to attend the free, family-friendly summer celebration of connection, friendly competition and fun.
From noon to 3 p.m., the park will come alive with food trucks, live music, a beer garden, games - including the lively Toss for a Cause cornhole tournament - and a resource fair. Learn more about how to better support elders, adults with disabilities, and people living with serious illness directly from the nonprofits serving them. Older and disabled adults in Portland are vibrant contributors to our neighborhoods and civic life, yet they face numerous challenges. A Community Day in the Park is a celebration of the people who show up for one another and a powerful reminder that in a city known for its heart, no one should age or struggle alone.
"At Housecall Providers, we believe a healthy community is an inclusive one. Every day, we serve people whose stories go unheard, older adults alone, those with serious illness and families striving to cope. A Community Day in the Park is for them and it is a reminder that everyone deserves to be seen, supported and included," said Rebecca Ramsay, CEO of Housecall Providers.
Whether you're a caregiver looking for support, a neighbor wanting to help, a family wanting a fun day out, or simply someone who believes in the power of community, you belong at this event.
