Almost 15 years ago, I kicked off my speech at the annual American Coalition of Ethanol by toasting all the attendees with two ethanol cocktails, one was my margarita concoction that used Catdaddy Spiced Moonshine. I called it a YankeeRita. It was UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Since that time I've used other American-made whiskeys to make YankeeRitas, including a 140 proof brandy produced in my own 11-gallon still. Woowee!!!

Today, February 22nd, which is also George Washington's birthday, is National Margarita Day. Bob Gordon and I are toasting all of our TACH readers and fans with YankeeRitas made from Georgia Moon Corn Whiskey (80 proof), Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey (66 proof), Stillhouse Red Hot Corn Whiskey (69 proof),and Buffalo Trace White Dog Mash #1 - corn, rye, and malted barley (125 proof). You can use Jose Cuervo Classic margarita mix or any margarita mix and a little Triple Sec for fun.
All four make wonderful YankeeRitas. Give 'em all a try. Chances are you're not driving anywhere today wait until you get home. And only use drinkable ethanol, not fuel ethanol, which will kill you.

If you'd like to join the celebration but can't or don't want to consume any liquor, swap out the whiskey with Ritual Zero Proof alcohol-free whiskey or tequila. It tastes fantastic using your favorite mix.
By the way, three of the four whiskeys were produced in the beautiful state of Kentucky, which just happens to be the headquarters for The Auto Channel, and Ritual is also made in the USA.
Cheers!
