UAW Strike and Supply Chain News =?UTF-8?B?4oCT?= Union shuts down production of one of the most popular vehicles made in America, Ram Trucks - supply chain experts for comment i
The United Auto Workers union has now expanded its strike as of yesterday with over 6,800 more workers walking off the job at a factory that makes Ram 1500 trucks.
The Ram 1500 is one of the more expensive, profitable and popular vehicles in America right now. The walkout is strategic and hurtful to one of the world's largest automakers - Stellantis, which considers the truck one of its most important and profitable vehicles. The company sells over 300,000 Ram trucks per year and this stoppage will cut into that.
Weeks ago, the UAW expanded the strike beyond the automakers and into many parts makers and distributors.
The big question now, for the fourth quarter and beyond is, how long will current inventories hold out before the automakers feel the pain? If these strikes drag on, or if they expand as it appears they may, this will put a crunch on the automotive supply chain.

Please note: I do not represent the union or any automakers, nor labor relations experts. My clients are supply chain experts.
Depending on the nature of your story, I may have a good resource for you. If not, I will let you know quickly.
Just let me know of your needs. Thanks.
