- This includes electric school buses, shuttle buses, and trucks,
spanning all generations of their vehicles from 2014 to the present.
This marks an industry-first milestone, propelling electric commercial
vehicles into grid symbiosis during peak demand -- *Even older generation
vehicles can be retrofitted with V2G capability through a simple software
update,* making Phoenix Motorcars the first commercial vehicle manufacturer
to offer V2G across its entire product range.
- Additionally, Phoenix Motorcars has plans to equip its next-generation
vehicles with 60kW V2G capability using the CCS charging protocol in
collaboration with Fermata Energy.
The significance of this collaboration goes beyond the EV industry.
- Phoenix Motorcars and Fermata Energy have also signed a commercial
partnership agreement to facilitate the seamless deployment of V2G-capable
vehicles, chargers, and managed V2G services.
This development is crucial as V2G capability is pivotal in *accelerating
the adoption of electric commercial vehicles*, *allowing fleets to
establish a symbiotic relationship with power grids*, especially during
peak demand periods.
This partnership marks a pivotal moment in the EV industry, heralding a
future where electric vehicles seamlessly integrate into the energy
ecosystem.
- We believe this story is not only newsworthy but also holds the
potential to reshape the way we view sustainable transportation and energy
management.
*Denton Peng,* the CEO of Phoenix Motor Inc., and *Tony Posawatz*, the CEO
of Fermata Energy, are available to provide their insights into how V2G
capabilities will impact the electrification efforts of commercial fleets
and the broader implications for energy grid resilience.
Key Points:
- V2G integration for all Phoenix EVs, even older models, via software
updates.
- Next-gen vehicles to offer faster 60kW V2G capabilities.
- This development signifies a major leap towards sustainable
transportation and grid resilience.
Best,
Daniel
