AUTO CENTRAL - March 24, 2023: I recently had the pleasure of testing Vanture's latest dash cam, Element 3. Along with being the best selling dash cam brand on Amazon last year, this dash cam also won the iF Design Award 2022. It has an impressive spec sheet, along with a bunch of interesting features. So does it live up to the hype? Lets get to know the camera first.

Featuring Sony Starvis sensors and an upgraded chip, the Vantrue E3 3 channel Wi-Fi dashcam records front, cabin and rear at 2.5K+1080P+1080P@30FPS resolution, providing superb images to help you clearly capture license plates as well as street signs. Thanks to the 160° wide-angle lenses, this mini dash cam effectively reduces blind spots and captures a wide range of driving situations, so you won't easily miss anything important.

Hands-free voice control(available in English, Japanese, Russian, and Chinese)helps you operate this mini dash cam more easily, allowing you to focus more on driving safety. Provides you with a safer and more comfortable driving environment. Voice command supports: take photo, turn on/off Wi-Fi, turn on/off screen, turn on/off audio, lock the video, video start, show the front/rear camera, show both cameras etc.

This 3 channel dash cam with built-in Wi-Fi allows you to view and download footage on your smartphone or tablet via the free Vantrue app, and share your journey with friends or family on social media. The built-in GPS can accurately record the vehicle's position (latitude and longitude), driving speed, and route, which you can view on your smartphone or computer.

In parking mode with motion detection, it can be activated by motion or impact and it will save the previous 5 seconds before and 30 seconds after the event. Low Bitrate recording allow this car camera to record video at a low frame rate (1080P 15FPS or 720P 15FPS) to save storage space, which will help to save card space and have longer recording time in parking mode. This 24-hour parking mode must be activated with a hardwire kit (sold separately).

The remote control is helpful when saving and locking important videos while driving, so you don't get distracted or taking your eyes off the road. The built-in G-sensor enables dashcam to detect events and lock the video to event folder when they occur. Seamless loop video will automatically overwrite old files. This dual camera can hold up to 512GB of external storage, and a Vantrue SD card is recommended.

Instead of traditional batteries, the Vantrue E3 car camera uses supercapacitor that are durable enough to withstand extreme temperature ranges (-4°F to 158°F), which also extends the life and reliability of the dash cam. Support optional anti-glare CPL (Sold separately). They provide a lifetime warranty service for the dashcam, and free replacement within 18 months. All emails and messages will be answered within 24 hours.

Installation was pretty straight forward. I first downloaded and installed the Vanture app on my phone. Then I installed a microSD memory card, which is not included, and properly formated it for the camera. Using the Live View on the app was very helpful in choosing the best location. They provide plenty of wire so no need to worry if it will reach to the location you desire. Once I settled on a location it was an easy peel and stick mounting method. The hardest and most time consuming part was concealing the wires. I had to remove or loosen several panels to route the wires out of site. I then proceeded to the settings menu and set the options that best suited my needs.

The final and most exciting part of the installation, the test drive! I had some errands to run so I used this opportunity to try the camera out. It was comforting to know that someone was watching over me, and was literally watching my back. I hardly noticed the camera in the car, until I would hit a bump to trigger the “event” which is an audible ding. After my to do list was complete I returned home to pull the results on my phone via the app.I was in no way disappointed at the results! I was quite impressed at how clear the audio and video turned out. You could see and hear as if you were riding in the car with me. I enjoyed the ability to see my vehicle position, speed, and route displayed on a map due to the built in GPS. There was nothing that this camera did that disappointed me.

So if you’re in the market for one, or cant decide on which one to choose, let me save you the time and make it easy for you. Just pick up one of these Vanture Element 3 cameras. Starting the 27th, Vantrue is running a week long promotional price of $254.99 and with the use of their coupon lower it an additional $15 which can be picked up on Amazon here
