NWRA Submits Comments to EPA on Proposed Changes to RFS Program
Arlington, VA – The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) filed comments with the Environmental Protection Agency on its proposed changes to the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) Program. These comments elaborate on matters relevant to the landfill sector.
NWRA identified several areas of concern including, proposed cellulosic biofuel requirements for 2023-2025, surplus RIN generation, the regulatory program for renewable electricity, and biogas regulatory reforms.
“Our members are the leading producers of renewable natural gas (RNG) and renewable electricity from landfill biogas in the country,” said NWRA President & CEO Darrell Smith. “We look forward to continuing to partner with the EPA on this topic.”
