More than just another truck show, the Tailgate Throwdown will utilize all the facilities of NOLA Motorsports Park for a weekend full of on-road and off-road activities for new and classic trucks and SUVs. From drag racing and autocross to dirt racing and trail rides, the Throwdown features something for every automotive enthusiast. The truck show portion will be open to all years, makes, and models of trucks, including lifted trucks, lowered trucks, and everything in between. WHEN: Friday, March 31, 2023 (10 a.m. - 10 p.m.) Saturday, April 1, 2023 (10 a.m. - 7 p.m.) WHERE: NOLA Motorsports Park 11075 Nicolle Blvd, Avondale, LA, 70094 TICKETS: Event entry, which includes a spot in the truck & SUV show, will be $50, with entries into the autocross, drag racing, and off-roading events an additional $25. Spectator admission will be $20 for the general public, $15 with a military/first responder discount, and free for kids 10 and under. Optional obstacle course. Photo opportunities on the trail. · Show N’ Shine - Included with all event entries, awards chosen by picks from Hemmings special guests, award on Saturday afternoon. · Truck-Cross - Two days of autocross for trucks on the NOLA Motorsports Park Skid Pad. Four classes: Modern (1964 - current), Vintage (1983 and older), SUV & AWD (any SUV and all SWD vehicles), and Exhibition (any vehicle that does not fit above including El Caminos and Rancheros, not eligible for prizes). Awards TBA. · Drag Racing - On NOLA Motorsports Park front straightaway; 1/8 mile, arm drop, no prep, no timing. Three classes: Test & Tune: Fun Runs, Truck & SUV Classes: Modified Trucks & SUVs, and Truck True Street: Street Legal Trucks only. Rules to follow soon. Awards and payouts TBA. · Short Course - Open to any off-road vehicle, street legal or not. No UTVs. Time trials on the NOLA Off-Road short course. Three classes: Stock (slightly-to-zero modified vehicle with stock wheels and tires), Semi-Modified (minor-to-medium modified vehicle, min 35" tires), and Modified (heavily modified vehicle, min 37" tires).
