India's PM Modi Launches 20% Ethanol-Blended Petrol to Reduce Carbon Emissions

On February 6, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the higher 20% ethanol blended petrol in 11 States/UTs to reduce carbon emissions [1][2]. The petrol is available at 84 petrol pumps of three State-owned fuel retailers in the 11 States/UTs [2][3]. The move is part of a government programme to increase the use of biofuel and lower emissions and cut down on oil imports [4].
