Director Edgar Wright has commented that he imagined the scene as a “musical version of a bank robbery and car chase�??. And that is just what he gave us. Backed by the rock group Jon Spencer Blues Explosion’s Bellbottoms, the chase sees Ansel Elgort escape the law by performing improvised stunts in his red Chevrolet Impala. The second most-watched movie car chase was the truck chase from Terminator 2: Judgment Day with 129 million views across 2 videos. The truck chase scene involved miles of cables and some jaw-dropping pyrotechnics. For the motorbike jump alone, a 1991 Harley-Davidson Fatboy was attached to 5 separate wires so that it swung in the air. The scene involved the T-1000 in a large truck hunting John Connor on a dirt bike with the Terminator in pursuit. The Matrix Reloaded chase earns the third top spot for most viewed car chase on YouTube. Its freeway fight reaches a total of 62.6 million views across 7 top videos. The most-watched of these 7 has been seen 35 million times. To accommodate the car chase, the movie’s directors, the Wachowskis, impressively built their own 1.25-mile-long highway for a whopping $2.5 million. The filming of this chase was so intense that none of the actors involved came away without an injury.
