According to reports, Toyota has announced it plans to spend over $5.5 billion on electric vehicle battery capacity to accommodate demand for its new cars, and to keep existing EVs on the road. As part of this. $2.5 billion will go to manufacturing operations expansion in North Carolina.

This all leads to the question well beyond Toyota or any one company. Is the infrastructure in place to build new batteries for the growing number of EVs on the road. And what about maintenance and parts for the vehicles?
