The top 10 most popular vehicle brands on TikTok
Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, more commonly known as BMW, is the most popular car brand on TikTok, seeing over 17.6 billion views across the app. The BMW brand has been quick to embrace the social media platform, creating their own hashtag challenges to promote their vehicles.
Ranking in second place is Mercedes-Benz, with 9.1 billion views on TikTok (almost half as many views as rival BMW!). Similarly to BMW, Mercedes has also made great use of TikTok through viral challenges such as the #MBStarChallenge. Some of the vehicles which racked up the most views for the brand include the S-Class, G-Class and CLA-Class.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of the most viewed cars on TikTok are luxury vehicles, and so it’s no surprise to see the Italian luxury sports car maker Lamborghini ranking third. The Lambo was the first supercar brand to arrive on TikTok, and has since racked up over 8.3 billion views.
The top 10 most popular vehicle models on TikTok
Looking at the specific models which have received the most views on TikTok, there was a clear winner, with 3.9 billion people watching clips featuring the iconic Ford Mustang (the longest-serving car in Ford’s lineup).
Tied for second place the Nissan GT-R and the Toyota Supra, both received 2.8 billion views.
“TikTok is no longer just a space for Gen-Z to share viral dances and challenges. The app is now home to many viral car videos, racking up billions of views from car lovers all over the world.
“Unsurprisingly, the majority of the most-viewed motoring videos on TikTok involve vehicles that many of us could only dream of owning, as people turn to social media to escape lockdown life.
“It seems that we love taking a peek at the exclusive lifestyles of those lucky enough to drive one of these luxurious rides, as the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini, have received the highest number of views on the app.”
