Mercedes is the most name-dropped car brand in music. From the iconic Eagles’ tune Hotel California to the 90s pop hit You Get What You Give by New Radicals, the car brand has been featured in 16,415 songs. The German rapper Kollegah makes the most mentions of the car brand in his songs, name-dropping it in 33 tunes.
Lamborghini races into second place. Of the 9,546 tunes the Italian car brand has featured in, ten of those can be attributed to the rapper Chris Brown and nine to Soulja Boy. Again, a German rapper comes out on top: Noah name-drops the supercar brand in 18 of his tunes, including one aptly named “Lamborghini??.
Featuring in 8,474 tunes, Bentley is the third most mentioned car brand in music. The British manufacturer is popular with American rap favourites such as Lil Wayne who name-checks it in 11 songs, and Nicki Minaj who waxes lyrical about it in four songs. The artists that “pull up and park the Bentley?? into first place is the hip-hop trio Migos with 16 songs mentioning the car brand.
Rolls Royce comes in tenth place!
Rolls Royce rounds off the top ten, featuring in 2,556 tunes. Interestingly, Missy Elliott is the artist who name-dropped the British luxury car brand the most in her songs (on five different occasions), being the only female wordsmith in our top ten list.

Uswitch.com/car-insurance/ sought to investigate the most commonly mentioned car brands in music.
A list of mainstream car brands from multiple sources, including Statista and Wikipedia, was collected. The search prioritised car manufacturers by production levels and revenues with the premise that greater production/revenue is a direct result of popularity.
Subsequently, popular terms for each car brand were identified to help us account for slang terminology used as an alternative to the root brand name.
Car brands with particularly ambiguous names, such as Jaguar, Dodge, Lincoln and Genesis, were omitted. This helped reduce uncertainty surrounding the context in which the search terms are used and led to more accurate results.
All songs with lyrics containing search terms collected in steps two and three were scraped from Lyrics.com. Information including the song title, author, album, release year and lyrics were also collected.
The approximate search match feature on Lyrics.com was used to handle the translation of the search terms into multiple languages.
The songs included in this study are limited to those listed on Lyrics.com. The website was deemed appropriate due to its considerable collection of songs spanning multiple world regions.
To conclude the research, the dataset was aggregated by car brand and the title count, mode artist and mode artist count variables were calculated.
Obscure artists with limited exposure to mainstream music streaming outlets were omitted from the results.
Data was collected on 09/07/2021 and is as accurate as of then.
