The Hague, April 15, 2019. Mini has just released details and photos of the updated Clubman. But we shall not see it at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, that opens its doors on Friday. Earlier this year, BMW of North America said that it will not participate in the show.
The new MINI CLUBMAN 5-seater with double rear doors has been updated with a redesigned radiator grille and new LED fog lamps with driving light ring. The adaptive LED headlights can now be ordered with Matrix high beam as an option. This increases visibility while avoiding dazzle.
They include a turning light which can be recognized by an inlay inside the headlamp and automatically adapt their brightness to the situation on the road. In urban traffic and when visibility is limited due to the weather conditions, the side of the road is illuminated more intensely by adding the dimmed turning light. When driving on motorways it is possible to selectively increase the range of the high beam.
At the sides, the new version can be recognized by new light alloy wheels, while at the rear we see LED lights as standard and the Union Jack design as an option.
The most noticeable feature of the new model is the grille, which extends across the entire bumper. The air inlet has a new structure and is separated into six black horizontal bars, that can be executed in chrome as an option. Specific for the Cooper S and SD Clubman are the hexagonal grid pattern instead of the horizontal struts and the individual chrome strut in the air inlet as well as the latter’s chrome-plated emblem with a red ‘S’ at the center.
New options are the 10 mm lower sports suspension and the adaptive suspension, with a possibility to choose between two damper modes.
Customers now have a choice of more options with the Mini Yours program to customize their Clubman, inside. While Mini Connected has new functions.
New body colors complete the choices for the new Mini Clubman.
