DENTON, Texas--Dozens of new vehicles will be hitting the streets of North Texas when the 2019 Texas Auto Roundup comes to Denton April 15-16.

The annual event is a competition in which new-car manufacturers vie for awards from journalist members of the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA). More than 40 automotive journalists — who represent diverse media outlets that range from newspapers and magazines to radio stations, television stations, automotive blogs, and websites — will evaluate and cast their votes for the best vehicles in a range of categories after two days of driving.

While awards will be given in a variety of categories, including crossover utility vehicles, performance sedans, coupes, and “green” cars, only one vehicle will be crowned with the event’s top honor: Car of Texas.

“We’re excited to experience and compare the latest products from some of the world’s top automotive brands,” said Michael Marrs, TAWA’s president and co-host of the In-Wheel Time radio show in Houston. “This is a great, longstanding partnership between the auto manufacturers and the journalists who cover the auto industry in Texas and beyond. TAWA is happy to help facilitate this fun and productive event.”
