LOS ANGELES - March 17, 2019: Different cities celebrate St. Patrick's Day in different ways. New York has a parade, Boston has endless parties and a pub crawl that goes on and on and on. But in LA, nothing much. In fact, The "city of Angeles" doesn't even show up on the "Best Places to Go for St. Patrick’s Day List."

So the petroleum oil industry decided to send in something sparkly, something that would generate national, if not international attention, for this year's St. Patrick's Day. The oil industry sent in a 9,000 gallon tanker truck with leaking gasoline. Between the explosions, the emergency sirens, and the billowing smoke cloud that could be seen up to 70 miles away, this will be a St. Patrick's Day to remember for everyone living in the greater LA area.

An unnamed oil industry spokesman indicated that he believed the celebration to be a great success. He said, "Heck, only two people were injured. Compare that to any St. Patrick's Day parade in New York where dozens of people are injured, and you'll see that we provided just as much bang for the buck, so to speak, but with far fewer casualties.
