Quotes:
"Getting to the final round with the silver Summit Racing Chevy Camaro in Pomona was great, but obviously the goal this weekend is to get one more win light on Sunday. I’m looking forward to the first qualifying session and getting back in the driver's seat because this is a good car. It’s fun to drive, for sure.

"They usually have very dry, cool air this time of year in Phoenix, and that's good for the Pro Stock cars. That can make this a fast racetrack, even considering the elevation."

Quotes:
"We got off to a little bit of a rough start with my car in Pomona, but we're putting that behind us and starting fresh in Phoenix. We like this racetrack, and we tested there just a couple of weeks ago, so we really don't have any excuses. We feel good about our team and our Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaros going into this race, just as we did in Pomona. We started the season with confidence, and that was reinforced in the final round at the Winternationals. Our goal is to add to that and get another win for Ken Black, Summit Racing, and Chevrolet."

When the schedule was shortened to 18 races, though, he was encouraged by his mom, Dottie, to reconsider.
* Butner's victory in Pomona two weeks ago was the 150th Pro Stock win for KB Racing, the acclaimed group racing out of Ken Black's race shop in Mooresville, North Carolina
* Butner, an accomplished NHRA Sportsman racer who earned the Comp Eliminator season title in 2006 and has four Division 3 championships, has one win in Phoenix – he beat Mark Faul in Super Stock for the trophy in 2002

* The Floyds Knobs, Indiana-based driver is engaged to Randi Lyn Shipp, a Stock Eliminator competitor who favors Phoenix; she won there in 2011 (her first national event win) and 2016

Quotes:
"After winning Pomona last year, I didn’t win again until the second-to-last race of the year. We didn't have a bad car, we just didn’t have the luck. I do not feel that way this year at all. We have a great car, a great team, and I’m very excited to keep it going. We’re going to try to win them all. The KB Racing team is just as strong as ever, and we’ll get even better."
