DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Fuel Rewards® program, a top-ranked national loyalty program that connects national and regional brands with millions of consumers who enjoy earning cents-per-gallon savings at the pump, has partnered with AAA to offer its members everyday savings on the cost of fuel. Featuring fuel discounts redeemable at over 13,000 participating Shell-branded stations across the US, AAA members can save up to 5 cents per gallon (on up to 20 gallons) on every fill-up through December 31, 2019.

“Partnering with AAA not only expands the reach of the Fuel Rewards program, it also provides significant savings to more than 50 million AAA members in the US,” said Bobby Spence, VP of Sales and Business Development for Fuel Rewards. “The fuel savings made through our program provide a high-value benefit to millions of drivers, making their lives easier in a substantial way. Our highly sought-after cents-per-gallon rewards combined with AAA’s century-plus reputation for reliability is a win-win for drivers across the US.”

“We are excited to offer the Fuel Rewards program to AAA members,” said Scott Denman, Vice President, Financial Services and Discounts & Rewards, AAA. “Whether fueling-up for a road trip or to get to work, this new AAA benefit will save members money at the pump. Every bit of savings goes a long way.”

Everyday Savings, Everyday Value

The Fuel Rewards program is one of the country’s most successful coalition loyalty programs because it delivers real value to its participants and 18 million consumer members. The strength of fuel savings as a reward resonates deeply with consumers, and that is reflected in its many partners, including AAA. U.S. consumers ranked fuel savings as their most-preferred type of reward for three years running, according to the 2017 Road to Rewards report, overtaking cash-back as their favorite rewards currency.

“The breadth of the Shell network enables us to serve the more than 50 million AAA members with high-quality fuels and on-the-go shopping convenience no matter where they are in their journey – whether it’s picking up the kids from school or on a family vacation across the country,” said Todd Gulbransen, North America Loyalty Manager, Shell Oil Products US. “We are especially pleased to extend Instant Gold Status, which provides 5 cents per gallon savings, through December 31, 2019 to AAA members with a Fuel Rewards account, so we can deliver value on every fill-up throughout the year.”

To activate the Fuel Rewards savings, current AAA members must register with or log into the Fuel Rewards program at AAA.com/Shell. As an added benefit, members registering for the first time in the Fuel Rewards program by January 31, 2019 will save 25 cents per gallon (on up to 20 gallons) on their first fill-up.
