The Evolution of the Consumer and the Car Buying Process
Hi Mark,
A new car-buying app just hit the market in Southern California that is allowing consumers to now dictate their car buying process. Santa Monica based startup, CarBlip<http://www.carblip.com/>, is giving customers control over the negotiating process through its direct-to-dealer, communication-based platform that allows users to make an offer and negotiate on multiple new cars at a time.
It's no secret there is an evolution taking place within the automotive industry's digital retail space and now more than ever, there's an abundance of options available on where to buy a car and what car to buy. Car Blip's concept was initially largely targeted at millennials, but the company is now seeing a greater need to retrain the consumer mindset when it comes to negotiating and purchasing a car.
Would you be interested in talking to CarBlip for a story on the development and evolution of the car buying process and where the industry is headed?
Brian Johnson, Co-Founder and CEO of CarBlip, could provide insight on the direction the industry is headed towards - a more customer-centric and experiential space for car buyers. He could share data CarBlip has available around consumer behavior and consumers desire for less face-to-face interaction with dealers. While today apps like Carblip are solely options, in the not-so-distant future this is bound to be the status quo. Platforms like CarBlip are looking to be at the forefront of this industry transformation by offering end-to-end solutions in the hopes that soon, a customer won't even have to step foot inside a dealership to own his or her new car.
We also work with RelayCars<https://www.relaycars.com/>, a non-gaming, automotive virtual reality experience that puts buyers right in the driver's seat of vehicles. RelayCars offers the most expansive and high-quality VR automotive library on the market, allowing users to explore the interior and exterior of thousands of cars through the RelayCars app. Their team would also be open to providing additional insight should this be of interest.
These technologies are also hugely beneficial to the car dealers, allowing dealerships to withstand higher volume of customers, close more deals and reach a broader clientele.
I will give you a call tomorrow to follow up and hopefully discuss possible angles to a story that might work for your readers.
Best,
Alex
