June 2018 U.S. Auto Sales
Washington DC July 3, 2018; The NADA reported that Ford Motor on Tuesday reported a modest rise in June U.S. auto sales vs. a year earlier, topping estimates. Fiat Chrysler reported a better-than-expected June gain as well.
General Motors today will report first quarterly U.S. auto sales report after going dark on monthly sales. The annualized pace of new vehicle sales in June is likely to rise to 17.1 million after dipping to 16.9 million in May, according to Edmunds. Automakers would benefit in part from an extra selling day and weekend last month. However, Cox Automotive pegs the June SAAR (seasonally adjusted annual rate) at 16.9 million. And its analysts say signs show "we have reached peak market and it won't be getting better."
