Fox Foundation For Parkinson's Research Lime Rock Park Announces MJFF As Official 2018 Charity The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research is Lime Rock Parks Official 2018 Charity and all proceeds from the Sunday Royals Car Show held today will be donated to this stellar charity. Despite the showers, nearly 100 cars made their way to the front straight making for an eclectic group of cars from around the region. Spectators brought their umbrellas and high spirits as they meandered through the show, selecting their top picks in several categories. Winners are shown and listed below: 2018 Sunday Royals Car Show Winners: Veteran's Vote: Mike and Connie and their red and black 1934 Ford People's Pick: Dean and his E-Type Jaguar. Skip's Selection: A pair of Tesla X's that appeared to be "dancing" as they demonstrated their unique, automatic features such as gull wing doors synchronized to the song "Carol of the Bells" by Mannheim Steamroller. Royal's Crown: Bruce and his 1941's Willys Gasser. Honorable Mention: A special mention was made to the students of the University of Connecticut's Engineering Program. The students showcased their Formula SAE vehicle, which they built and race in competitions throughout the country. All proceeds from the Sunday Royals Car Show will be donated to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research is Lime Rock Parks Official 2018 Charity. Fundraising events will be happening throughout the season to support the foundation, all of which will culminate during a full rally for the cause at the Historic Festival held at the end of August during Labor Day Weekend. First-Ever Farm-To-Track Picnic A Success The Farm-To-Track Picnic & Pig Roast was held today in conjunction with the Sunday Royals Car Show. More than 100 people came out to enjoy the family-styled barbecue and fresh locally sourced foods. The interactive, farmer hosted experience featured foods from regional farms and local purveyors, including: • Arethusa Farm of Litchfield, CT • The Crown Maple Estate at Madava Farms of Dover Plains, NY • Hosmer Mountain Soda of Manchester, CT ​• Hummel Bros. of New Haven, CT • Irving Farms Coffee Roasters of Millerton, NY • Secchiaroli Farm of Waterford, CT • Sharon Mountain Greens of Sharon, CT • Thorncrest Farms/MilkHouse Chocolates of Goshen, CT • Whippoorwill Farm of Salisbury, CT Lime Rock Park Food and Beverage Director Mark Mazzeo looks forward to hosting more community style gatherings, featuring locally grown and sourced menu items in the near future. Memorial Day Monday Memorial Day Funday Memorial Day Raceday Four, 60-Minute GT Races = All Day Action Memorial Day Monday will bring a full day of Grand Touring (GT) racing to the track with day three of the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Lime Rock powered by M. Four, 60-minute races are on the schedule: GTS SprintX occurring from 9:55a to 10:55a and then again from 2:25p to 3:25p, and GT SprintX racing from 11:25a to 12:25p and then again from 4:05p to 5:05p.
