TERRE HAUTE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Donald E. Smith Trust has authorized the auction sale of Mr. Smith’s vast collection of race cars, antique and collectible cars, sports and racing memorabilia, hunting, gaming and Coca-Cola collectibles, antiques, firearms and thousands of other items. Don Smith, who passed away last year at age 90, was a popular businessman, civic leader, auto racing team owner and promoter.

Gallivan Auctioneers of Indianapolis will conduct the sale, consisting of several online auctions, then culminating with four days of live auction events in June, at what Mr. Smith referred to as “Donnieland” in Terre Haute, Indiana, where his collection is stored. The online auctions will begin in early-April, with live auctions in June. The live auctions will feature an online webcast, allowing bidders anywhere to bid on the items.

The collection features approximately 130 automobiles including: Indy 500 race cars, Sprint cars, Midgets, and Stock cars. Among the collector cars are a 1931 Pierce Arrow Coupe, 1964 Jaguar XKE, 1949 Packard, John Weitz X-600, Corvettes, Camaros, Indy 500 and Brickyard 400 Pace cars, plus many other fine antique and muscle cars.
